Reasons for Car Accidents

Over the years, more and more people are being involved in car accidents, some miner and some fatal. Every day I fear for my life as I step into an automobile. I fear that there might be a drunk driver, or that the person behind the wheel will make a wrong move and just crash into something or someone. I read many articles, but the one that got my attention was, The 6 Most Common Causes of Automobile Crashes by www.SixWise.com. The article  gave me a lot of useful information that many people should learn about.
Most causes for car accidents are because of distractions. Some distractions include:

  • Driver fatigue (12 percent,)
  • Looking at scenery (10 percent)
  • Other passengers or children (9 percent)
  • Adjusting the radio, cassette or CD player (7 percent)
  • Reading the newspaper, books, maps or other documents (less than 2 percent)
The percents listed represent the percentage of how many times there is a car accident because of these distractions. People should learn to not get easily distracted, if they can not learn they should get their license taken away. These people are a hazard to everyone around them. Innocent people do not deserve to die just because of an irresponsible driver.

Should Teachers Have a Dresscode?

When it comes to dress-code, I think that teachers are professional enough to make their own decisions on what to, and not to wear. I don't think teachers would go to the extreme and wear super provocative clothing along with really loose clothes. Teachers should have a say in their own wardrobe. For teachers, going to work shouldn't be boring were you have to wear a tie and a suit in order to get in the school. Teachers do so much for us students, they shouldn't be limited to wearing boring clothes every single day.
Some teachers may feel like they will get called out on by what they are wearing, this will lead them to being insecure about what they are wearing and also about themselves. This is not good, these teachers are our role models, we grow to love them because we see them every day. Students might take out on there insecurity and become insecure as well. We need lively teachers, not sacks of knowledge moping around the whole school. Not having a dress-code will also bring teachers a sense that they are trusted by the district office. Teachers by their own actions will do the right thing and not wear clothes that are ridiculously provocative.

Teachers work hard. These awesome people will be the cause to our successful career in the future. I think we should let them decide on what and what not to wear.

Do Teachers Really Need a Dress-code?

Do Teachers Really Need a Dress-code?

I don't really understand why a question like this needs answering?

Hopefully your teacher is mature enough to know what to wear and what not to wear. As long as its not revealing or distracting, that's pretty much what us students are asking of teachers.

As students we also don't want a teacher looking like he/she is dressed for a party. And of course we don't want over-dressed teachers who look like they are going to a wedding. I'm pretty much asking for a teacher who looks clean and cares about what they look like but doesn't over do it like some teachers I've had in the past years.

There are always two sides to a story. According to CTA(California Teachers Association) website, some teacher dress-codes are taken to the extreme. A school in Atlanta, Georgia teachers are sent home for violating dress-code regulations. Women MUST wear pantyhose and men are required to wear a tie. Men weren't even allowed to have facial hair!  I think this dress-code is to extreme. I know teachers represent the school just as much as the students do but teachers should know how to look professional without some dress-code telling them what to wear.

My opinion is more in favor of About.com's views. They think a teacher should dress with comfort, professionalism, and personality in mind. They also agree with a non-distracting look. No sleeveless shirts, bling, minimal makeup, and a teacher should have some comfortable shoes.

Teachers are professional to where they can dress themselves and don't need help. I hope my school never has a dress-code for teachers. They are already busy enforcing the student dress-code.

Should Teachers Have A Dress Code?

In my personal opinion I think that teachers SHOULD have dress code. Now a days there are way to many incidents involving teachers and their students. I read this good article that addresses what teachers should not wear. I agree with this article on many occasions. Piercings and tattoos might distract the students from their work. Not to point fingers but it is mostly the women teachers who dress inappropriate for school/work. The men all wear pants, button up shirt and a tie. Some women teachers wear short dresses, short skirts, low shirts, a lot of revealing clothing. I believe teachers should have a dress code for multiple reasons.
1.      They’re professionals, so they should dress like it. It would make them seem more presentable, you respect yourself and others respect you.
2.      The outfit you wear might distract your students from the learning process.
3.      It can make you feel more confident. You would know your students are paying attention to your teaching and not what you’re wearing.
Simple jeans and a T-shirt would work. As long as they are appropriate fitting. Teachers don’t have to dress fancy when going to work. They are going to school to improve our education and teach us what we’ll need to know in life, not to impress the students. Many people would agree on the fact that teachers should have a dress code just as well as we do. Those are MY reasons on why I think teachers should have a dress code.

dresscode

Many people would ask if there should be a dress code for teachers? I think there should because, its  not fair to us.

What i mean by that is that they can wear shirts without sleeves and we don't. They should be dressed professionally, and appropriately like their supposed to be dressed. To be honest the teachers at my school dress appropriately. They respect there selves pretty well.

Many teachers at our school wear short shorts and non sleeved shirts such as the newnaiad's, they wear whatever they want ,but when us Jr.high girls wear shorts that are a little bit smaller they get all mad and crazy about it. I think they should calm down and worry about what they need to wear. We cant tell them what to wear, they should know how to dress appropriately when they come to school.

So thats why I think there should be a dresscode.

Should Dress Codes be Enforced in Schools

I think that teachers should have a dress code right along with their students. Some teachers might think the same but I know that some don't either. " Having an enforced dress code made our envirornment look more professional. You shouldn’t arrive at school dressed like you are going to the grocery store on the weekend or out on a hot date.  http://www.cta.org/en/Professional-Development/Publications/2012/09/September-Educator-2012/Dress-Code.aspx People  live  in  areas where teachers are under attack about how much money they  make. If we are expected to spend a portion of our income on fancy clothes that might otherwise go to rent or food or basic needs,"states Aimee Downer  an English teacher at Raymond Cree Middle School and a member of the Palm Springs Teachers Association.  I agree with her, she makes alot of good and well stated facts that I and I am sure alot of other people agree with. You can't just wear any darned thing ,you have to look serious and suffisticated about your job.

Gif Lockley thinks otherwise. "I was shocked," says Lockley, principal of Eastover Elementary in Charlotte. "Ooh, it was scary."  In an increasing number of schools across the USA, those young women emulating Britney Spears aren't her preteen fans but a slightly more mature bunch: their teachers. That's extremely shocking to people who shops for and wears other designer brands like Gucci or Coach. Shockingly, it's up to individual principals to decide whether tattoos and tank tops constitute "professional."Some principals even tried to institute basic dress codes for teachers, but they just bat them down.
"Who are these people dressing to impress anyways? Hopefully not a 5-, 6- or 7-year-old child"Says says Lotowycz, who reports that nearly a third of her 70 staff members regularly raid Britney's closet"They have to get themselves out of the preteen department and into the professional department." http://www.usatoday.com/life/2003-08-20-dress-code_x.htm  These statements and opinions show that some, not all, but some teachers or anbody needs to get out of dressing and buying imature clothing and dress appropriatley for their jobs.

Teacher's and DRESSCODE.

For many years there has been an ongoing argument, if teachers should have dress code. I've heard many quick remarks by students. I've only been in 8th grade for about 3-4 weeks.

One day my tearcher walked in with a shirt not covering her WHOLE shoulder. Our dress code is that we have to have shirts with sleeves covering our shoulder. One student trapped out "Ooooh dress code!" From that day on I have been thinking, "Should teachers have a dress code?" FINALLY! The question has popped up and I get to state my opinion.

I think teachers should NOT have a dress code. Why? You may ask. Because teachers are professionals, and they know what they are doing. They should know what to wear. I read a few articles of teachers discussing dresscode for teachers. They gave me no idea's because I have an opinion of my own!

A lot of teachers were some ridiculous stuff! Espeachially the new naids at my school. They wear like spaghetti straps, and really short shorts! That is very ridiculous, but you know what that's them. That is how they express themselves, well than be it I don't judge. Most of the time teachers are dressed nice, and appropriate. Only a few times have I been like "Wow! What are you wearing!" It doesn't happen a lot.

I respect my teachers and they very much respect themselves. That is why I believe they shouldn't have a dresscode.

Why Do Dogs Do That?

This Is My Beautiful Dog Sasha
So why do dogs do things that leave some of our heads spinning? They leave us with many questions by the end of the day but I have gathered a few commonly asked questions and found answers! Prepare for knowledge!

-Why do dogs roll around on the carpet?-This one really gets me because I'm the one who vacuums the house. But she may just be trying to relieve an itch or rub her smell everywhere to make it smell like home(this is comforting to dogs).

-Why do dogs turn around before laying down? This is still an unsolved mystery but I do have my theories. It could be something at simple as getting comfortable or may relate to their wild side. When dogs roamed free there was always the possibility of an attack so when they turn around they may be trying to find a position where they are the least vulnerable against attack .

-Why do dogs bury food and toys? Burying food is like you and me using a refrigerator. Burying food keeps it fresh and safe. You might be wondering why save food when they have a full food bowl? But that's why they do it. They think that since they already have enough food they should save this extra for later.

Now you probably have more of an understanding of your dog and why she does some of the things she does. Although there are 100s of questions waiting to be answered I picked these because I can relate to them. Thank you for reading but since you are now unoccupied go walk the dog!

New World: Bloging

I'm so excited to be able to blog for the first time! I've always wanted to start a blog but I just never got around to it (lazy or busy?). But it's about here and now and although I can't see the future I envision myself posting pretty much whatever is on my mind. And I'm just bursting with excitement to be able to try this new experience with my buddies and of course some future friends! I'm dreading the sad day when I move on to high school and not be able to do this blog anymore. Expect highly of my posts I won't let you down.

                                                         ~Sam

Envisioning Myself.

In the next eight months i see myself posting a variety of things. I'm excited about this assignment because its online,I have poeple i talk to alot do it with me, and I'm always on the computer (shhh). The only thing I'm dreading with having a blog is when I'm lazy and i have alot of homework and i have to do an assignment and keep up everything (sounds dumb I know). Out of this expierience i hope to just have fun and be creative and learn how to become a better writter!

My next eight months.

In these next eight months, I am dreading to have a blog about One Direction. It may sound silly, but  love there music, face, and amazing personality. I have so much i can say about them. They are amazing singers. They have such wonderful talent! I would also love to blog about the crazy stuff I've done. I have many stories to tell. I hope we get to blog about anything we want at times. I feel like this is an amazing way to enhance the way I tell stories, and my way of creating stories. I love to write, but sometimes I have nothing to write about. So i find this a great way to write, even though I'm not writing I'm typing.

What I Envision

In the next eight months I envision myself writing blogs about what I want to do when I get older. I also see myself writing aout things like what I want to be when I get older, which is a vet by the way, where I want to live, and probaly the one and only thing I love the most on the earth, which I don't know yet. The things i am most excited about writing this assignment is that I kind of get the oppurtunity to write about what I want to write about and that's sort of cool. The things I am dreading about most is( don't laugh) nothing, I think I will get a good experience out of this.

The things I will hopefully get out of this is a chance to improve my writing skills. When I am older I want to write my very own book so I think this will help me alot. I already know what I need to work on. I need to work on not to put in too much info into my writings but just enough. So that's it, bye.
