Should Teachers Have A Dress Code?

In my personal opinion I think that teachers SHOULD have dress code. Now a days there are way to many incidents involving teachers and their students. I read this good article that addresses what teachers should not wear. I agree with this article on many occasions. Piercings and tattoos might distract the students from their work. Not to point fingers but it is mostly the women teachers who dress inappropriate for school/work. The men all wear pants, button up shirt and a tie. Some women teachers wear short dresses, short skirts, low shirts, a lot of revealing clothing. I believe teachers should have a dress code for multiple reasons.
1.      They’re professionals, so they should dress like it. It would make them seem more presentable, you respect yourself and others respect you.
2.      The outfit you wear might distract your students from the learning process.
3.      It can make you feel more confident. You would know your students are paying attention to your teaching and not what you’re wearing.
Simple jeans and a T-shirt would work. As long as they are appropriate fitting. Teachers don’t have to dress fancy when going to work. They are going to school to improve our education and teach us what we’ll need to know in life, not to impress the students. Many people would agree on the fact that teachers should have a dress code just as well as we do. Those are MY reasons on why I think teachers should have a dress code.
