I was doing some research today with a class mate and I found out that "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" is a band book. Are you kidding me? Please... I grew up with the book and the black and white movie. This website states that it is of "No value". It has much of a value it is a creative little story. It is about a imaginary world any little boy/girl could dream of.
The book is a bout a little girl Dorthy, after a huge tornado destroys her home she is transferred to a new mystical word. On her search to find a way back home she meets a tin man, a lion, and a straw man. They are all in search for something. The Lion is searching to be brave, and in one point in our life we are ALL going to have to be brave. The tin man is searching for a heart, don't we all have one? Yes we do. Then the straw man is looking for a brain...we all NEED a brain.
So how is this story of no value? It has many values a child might need to know. Like we all need to be brave.
